A&W Rebrand

Growing up about 30 minutes outside of Lodi, California, and going to Lodi High School made A&W feel like a familiar part of my childhood, so this rebrand felt especially exciting and personal to me. Every Thursday, A&W hosted classic car shows, which became one of my nana’s favorite things to do, making the brand feel even more tied to some of my favorite memories growing up.

I wanted to give the classic root beer brand a fresh look while still keeping the old-school charm that makes it so recognizable. I added pops of orange to bring in a fun modern-retro feel and created an illustrated pattern using over 100 years of A&W logos to celebrate the brand’s long history. My goal was to create something that feels nostalgic and familiar while still giving the brand a more updated and energetic personality.
